In the Bible, when asked &#8220;Who is my neighbor&#8221; Jesus gave the parable of the good Samaritan. A man who saw someone he did not know, wounded on the side of the road. This is an American trait, an attribute of our National character. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NEIGHBOR<\/strong>, <em>noun<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1.<\/strong> One who lives near another. In large towns, a <em>neighbor<\/em> is one who lives within a few doors. In the country, a <em>neighbor<\/em> may live at a greater distance; and in new settlements, where the people are thinly scattered over the country, a <em>neighbor<\/em> may be distant several miles. Such is the use of the word in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong> One who lives in familiarity with another; a word of civility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3.<\/strong> An intimate; a confidant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4.<\/strong> A fellow being. <a href=\"https:\/\/webstersdictionary1828.com\/Dictionary\/neighbor#\">Acts 7:1<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>5.<\/strong> One of the human race; any one that needs our help, or to whom we have an opportunity of doing good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>6.<\/strong> A country that is near.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/landmarks.podbean.com\/e\/episode-22-neighbors\">https:\/\/landmarks.podbean.com\/e\/episode-22-neighbors<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>According to Webster a neighbor is someone near to us who we have opportunity to help.
